Audition for The Way You Move - The 2019 SHARE Play!

Audition for the SHARE play: The Way You Move!

The SHARE play is performed annually during freshman orientation to start a conversation with the incoming class about sexual assault, sexual harassment, and stalking.

Auditions are coming up 5/7 and 5/10: Sign up at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lRM-OoSCOoLJq05hT_sXbrn0I2VHX23BkKWv3m847g8/edit#gid=0.

Any Princeton student can audition! Participating in the show requires no rehearsal before the summer, but does require early move-in to prepare for the two freshmen shows on 9/7. Princeton will provide housing and dining hall plan for early move in. Move in will be around 8/29, but is flexible depending on the role.

Reach out to director elianac@princeton.edu with any questions.

Audition for Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl!

Theatre Intime presents:
Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl
Directed by Eliana Cohen-Orth '21

As her late father sends her letters from the underworld, and her husband, Orpheus, takes a shower to avoid their wedding guests, Eurydice finds herself on a strange journey, full of talking stones, raining elevators, and tricycle-riding gods. Pulitzer-Prize winner Sarah Ruhl weaves a hilarious and heartbreaking retelling of the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Performances are October 11th-13th and 17th-19th.

Auditions are May 8th and 9th!

Theater Program Auditions

PLAY AUDITIONS

Thursday, May 9 @ 11-1:30 PM
Friday, May 10 @ 3:30-6:30 PM
Second floor theater studios, Wallace Dance Building at Lewis Arts complex

For the play auditions, students can prepare up to one minute of monologue of their choosing or a monologue posted on the audition site.  You may choose to memorize this material, but are not obligated to do so. We will also have printed text from the plays available in the audition studios, in case you decide to join us on the spur of the moment.

AUDITION FOR:

  • Intimate Apparel by Lynn Nottage, directed by faculty member Shariffa Ali, performing mid-October 2019

  • Mother Courage by Brecht, translated by Tony Kushner and directed by faculty member Bob Sandberg, performing mid-November

SINGING AUDITIONS

Thursday, May 9 @ 2-4:30 PM
Friday, May 10 @ 12:30-3 PM
Second floor theater studios, Wallace Dance Building at Lewis Arts complex

Experienced students should prepare a 16 to 32-bar cut of a song that shows off their vocal range, acting abilities, and personality. They should bring sheet music with cuts clearly marked. Less experienced and new to music theater students should not be afraid to attend without sheet music. Students can sing a cappella, with their own accompaniment if they bring it (such as a guitar) or can simply sing “Happy Birthday.” We hope to have varying levels of experience in the room.

AUDITION FOR:

  • Mother Courage by Brecht, translated by Tony Kushner and directed by faculty member Bob Sandberg performing mid-November
